Home Teachers FITNESSGRAM™ FG™9 Mobile App

The developers of FITNESSGRAM™ have released a mobile version of the FITNESSGRAM™ 9 application that will allow you to enter scores remotely using an iPhone. This application does not have the complete functionality of the web-based application, but it will allow you to enter scores in FITNESSGRAM™ assessments that you have created using the web-based application.

Pros:
• You can enter FITNESSGRAM™ scores anywhere you have internet access via your iPhone

Cons:
• You must set up your FITNESSGRAM™ assessments using the web-based application BEFORE entering scores via the mobile application
• The mobile application cost $5.00 at the iTunes store
• This app is not recommended for the iPad. Use the web-based application for the iPad.

NOTE: This app is not recommended for the iPad. Use the web-based application for the iPad.

Purchase the FITNESSGRAM™ Mobile App at the Apple iTunes store or click here!

The web-based FITNESSGRAM™ application is now completely compatible for the iPad. Use the fg9.ispod.info link to access the application. You will have access to all the features and capabilities as you typically would when using the computer (web-based) version.

NOTE: It is not advised by the IsPOD administrator to purchase the FITNESSGRAM™ Mobile app for the iPad. Simply use the full web-based application by going to fg9.ispod.info in your Safari™ browser.

What can I do with the FITNESSGRAM™ 9 (FG™9) Data Input App?

The FG™9 Data Input smart phone application will allow you to enter FITNESSGRAM™ test scores for students in your classes using your smart phone.

What do I enter when it asks for the URL?

On the first setup screen you are asked to enter the URL where you access the FG™9 web application. This web address is fg9.ispod.info for NC and IsPOD users.

What if it can’t find the IsPOD FG™9 server?

Be sure you are connected to the internet.

Why do I have to select my state, district, and school?

Part of your identification in the FG™9 web application is your state, school district, and school building. That information, along with your username and password, allows the FG™9 database to authenticate you as a legitimate user. These security features help to protect the privacy of student data.

How many of my classes and assessments can I work with on my smart phone?

Once connected to the North Carolina FG™9 mobile application, your phone will sync your FG™9 class and FITNESSGRAM™ assessment data. Once synced, all available classes and assessments will be downloaded to your smart phone.

Can I enter scores when I am not connected to FG™9?

You will be able to work even without constant phone connectivity in your gym or outdoors. You must first sync your FG™9 information to your smart phone. Once you have completed the sync, you will be able to enter scores without being connected. Once you’re reconnected to the FG™9 server, you will be able to sync the scores back to your FG™9 system and update your FITNESSGRAM™ assessments with the newly entered scores. You can sync your FITNESSGRAM™ scores at any time when connected to the internet by clicking the sync button at the bottom of the screen.

What is the difference between “All test items for one student” and “One test item for all students”?

“All test items for one student” means that you will select one student from your class list and then enter scores for all of the test items for that one student before moving to the next student. This would be similar to working across a spreadsheet.

“One test item for all students” means that you will select one test item from your FITNESSGRAM™ assessment (such as sit-ups) and then enter that score for all the students in that class before moving to the next test item. This would be similar to working down a column in a spreadsheet.

How do I save the scores I have entered on my smart phone into the FITNESSGRAM™ web application?

When connected to the internet via your smart phone, you will click the “Sync” button at the bottom of the screen. Then, click the “Sync” button in the middle of screen. This will update all of your FITNESSGRAM™ assessment information in the IsPOD FITNESSGRAM™ database.

Why can’t I get my smart phone to sync with my computer?

You must be connected to the internet on your smart phone.

Sometimes I do not see the buttons on the bottom. Why?

When you are on a screen where data can be saved, the buttons on the bottom of the FG™9 mobile app are hidden so you can focus on either cancelling or saving the data by clicking on the “Cancel” or “Save” buttons at the top of the mobile app.

Why do some fields pop up a numerical keyboard and others a standard keyboard?

A field that only accepts whole numbers will pop up a number keyboard because a decimal point is not needed. A field that can accept decimal numbers will pop up a standard keyboard because a decimal point is needed or can be used.

What is the “Classes” button at the bottom of the screen?

Clicking this button will take you to the class selection screen. You may use this function to switch from one class to another at the end of beginning of the class period.

What is the “Settings” button at the bottom of the screen?

Clicking this button will take you to the settings screen.

The IsPOD initiative will obtain student, teacher, and class information via NCWISE in early September, 2011. Data will be imported into secure IsPOD databases immediately there-after.

**FITNESSGRAM™ and student surveys will become available on September 26, 2011**

Once FITNESSGRAM becomes available to North Carolina teachers, each physical education teacher will receive an e-mail with their FITNESSGRAM™ username & password, along with a link to access the application.

Please do not send help-desk tickets requesting a username and password until after the FITNESSGRAM™ program has launched in September.
